A Lost Pearl

Randomly I remembered a senior who has same age as my sister. Wondering how world will be if he's still breathing the same air we are now.

Around a decade ago, M — named for privacy reasons — left this temporary world with nobody expecting it to. He was so young too, talented, and full of personality that lit up the whole school whenever he's around. Still has this vivid memory where my sister lay her head on my lap, mourned his passing. Kid me be like thinking it's as simple as "Oh her crush died so now she's sad.". But nope, thing's far more deep than that.

As it has been said before, he's a very influential person at school. Being in his technically /last/ year, it's a huge deal for him and his batchmates to finish their school years with final exam — referred to as SPM during this time — then graduate like others before them. Only his batchmates did that year, however. To show how much 'big stuff' this senior was, I myself never spoke a letter to him, yet I aware of his presence by word of mouth. Heck, I even write this, still remembering him like 10 years later with no exchange, no nothing??

All I can say all these years is just... how wonderful the world would be if he's still around, contributing to society like many parents hope their children do when they reach adulthood. How his potential touch can be a positive life-changer for the world. Since that's not the universe we live in, I have to let sorrow go.

May his soul rest well forever.
